Cuban food has never had much of a reputation for being tasty – but now, apparently, it’s all the rage.

Along with French pharmacies, ghost towns, swimming holes and Korean skincare.

The Pinterest 2017 Travel Report has revealed that these are some of this year’s holiday essentials, following content analysis of more than three billion travel ‘Pins’.

The report, written by the ‘Pinterest Pinsights team’, says that travellers are flocking to pharmacies in France, with Pins about them up 98 per cent.

Korean skincare is also on the shopping lists of trendy travellers, with saves and searches for it up 125 per cent.

Other big shopping trends for 2017 include Scandinavia for fashion inspiration (up 44 per cent), embroidery outfits (up 43 per cent) and desert style items (52 per cent) such as cactus plants.

Adventurers, meanwhile, are heading to Iceland in droves, with Pins for the volcanic island up 54 per cent, and ghost towns across the U.S (up 188 per cent).

According to foodies, Nashville hot chicken is the vacation fodder of choice these days (156 per cent). Travellers also have a hunger for Cuban food (83 per cent), pictured

For wellness travellers holidays that feature some sort of tough fitness programme such as a marathon or boot camp are big in 2017 (up 618 per cent) as are meditation retreats (88 per cent) and thermal baths (203 per cent).

Finally, the report highlights where travellers are heading to to take part in a celebration of some description, and it’s the Brazilian Carnival that’s the No1 choice (900 per cent), followed by Midsummer Swedish parties to celebrate the summer solstice (71 per cent) and full moon parties in Thailand (67 per cent).
